Now Is the Perfect Time to Start

I never planned to start a blog.

What I planned was to keep doing what I was doing — showing up to my corporate sales job, hitting my numbers, and quietly burning out while scrolling wellness content at midnight wondering why my life didn’t feel like that.

Sound familiar?

I’m Amy. And I contain multitudes.

By day I’m a high-performing sales professional navigating the fast-paced, quota-driven world of corporate America. By evening I’m rolling out my yoga mat, diffusing bergamot, and doing everything in my power to breathe my nervous system back to baseline. I’m a certified yoga instructor, a certified aromatherapist, a breath coach, a devoted student of all things metaphysical — and a brand new mama who looked at her daughter and thought: something has to change.

Not everything. Not the career. Not the ambition.

But something.

The hardest part is getting on the mat

In yoga, we often say the hardest part of the practice is simply getting onto the mat.

Life is busy. Distractions are endless — especially in the age of technology. And so the biggest hurdle we face is often just overcoming the resistance. Resistance to show up. Resistance to begin the project we’ve been thinking about for far too long. Resistance to do the work our souls have been aching for us to start.

Procrastination has been my biggest vice for as long as I can remember. And I’ve known for a while that this blog needed to exist. But fear kept getting in the way.

Fear of being seen. Fear of not being ready. Fear of putting imperfect work into a very loud world.

Then life reminded me — sharply and without warning — that waiting is a luxury none of us actually have.

For Aimee

I recently lost a dear friend, Aimee, to metastatic melanoma.

Aimee lived a big, bold life. She was the epitome of a social butterfly — fervent in her faith, generous with her love, and completely unafraid to take up space in the most beautiful way. She was the kind of person who made every room feel warmer just by walking into it.

In her passing, she gave me the greatest gifts.

The first: the bone-deep realization of just how short life truly is.

The second: the importance of having a strong foundation in your faith and spirituality — however that looks for you.

Witnessing her life be cut short suddenly pushed me through the fear I had been hiding behind. It made me realize that the blog, the app, the holistic life I’ve been building quietly in the background — it all needed to come forward. Now.

Aimee would have been so proud.

This one is for her.

So here we are

I’m a new mom to a baby girl, and I want to provide the cleanest, most organic home possible for her to grow up in — without sacrificing a beautiful aesthetic. My corporate day job pays the bills. But my real passion lies in creating a holistic, intentional lifestyle for my growing family.

The Corporate Hippie is my small corner of the internet where I’ll share that journey — the balance between my holistic, esoteric side and my corporate side. Clean beauty. Yin yoga. Nourishing food. Nervous system care. Intentional living. And honest conversations about doing it all without losing yourself in the process.

And although my Mystic Movements Yoga app isn’t perfect — it’s time to rip off the bandaid and share it with the world. There will always be opportunities for edits down the road. But today I am putting my work out into the world for all to see.
